Leo Burnett Wins American Advertising Federation Mosaic Award for Workplace Inclusion
AAF’s Mosaic Awards recognizes the remarkable contributions of organizations and individuals in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion
Each year the American Advertising Foundation recognizes and honors organizations and individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through advocacy, campaigns and agency initiatives and programs – serving as a North Star for leveraging the power of advertising and media to promote systemic change.
This week Leo Burnett’s Inclusivity Product Council (IPC) will accept a prestigious Mosaic Award in the Workforce Inclusion category at this year’s ceremony, for driving increased inclusivity and progress in the advertising industry.
“It is an honor to receive this award which acknowledges our commitment and efforts to fostering a more inclusive industry,” said Melissa Healy, SVP of Employee Belonging and Participation and IPC co-lead at Leo Burnett. “We are dedicated to understanding and embracing the nuanced identities of our folks because it enriches our organization and drives us to deliver the industry’s finest work.”
Nearly four years ago, with employees from Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide, the IPC was established in response to a period of intense cultural change, with a clear mission: to create culturally fluent, relevant, and empathic work that reflects the diverse identities of society.
“It is a joy to be a part of an agency that values and celebrates individuals unique lived experiences,” said Alana Shekoni, IPC co-lead. “The IPC has taught me that resonance within our work can be reached when we are empowered to bring our full selves to the table and engage in dynamic conversations.”
The IPC is an ongoing commitment putting Leo Burnett’s ethos of “what helps humans, helps business” into action every day for clients and team members.
“When we incorporate input from the IPC, our work gets even stronger, leading to industry awards for both efficacy AND inclusion,” Alma Klein, SVP Creative Director at Arc Worldwide concludes.
Geraldine White, Publicis Groupe’s Chief Diversity Officer, was also recognized as Mosaic Champion for her exceptional leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion within the industry.
